Latest hemp regulations in Va. leave farmers baffled
Many hemp farmers in Virginia are disappointed with the state's current regulations, which have been in effect for just over one year. One farmer, Jay Lilley, speaks of going "two steps (forward) and then back five, especially with the law changes" but is planting another crop; another farmer nearby, Brad Wynne, declares that "Hemp is dead in Virginia."

NHA lobbies for a stricter definition of industrial hemp
Erica Stark of the National Hemp Association told a recent webinar how the NHA has been working toward federal legislation that would define industrial hemp separately from the cannabinoid variety. The goal, Stark said, is differentiating the cultivating and processing steps taken on farms, noting that products deemed problematic by regulators are coming from manufacturers, not farms.
